CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting, as many already know, is a cosmetic procedure designed to remove fat from difficult problem areas on the body. CoolSculpting works by literally freezing the fat inside your body, which is then naturally removed over time.
What’s New?
The new CoolSmooth PRO Applicator recently launched, specializing in areas of non-pinchable fat (like the outer thigh) that other applicators haven’t yet been able to properly treat. Unlike the CoolSmooth Applicator, which took 120 minutes to treat, the CoolSmooth PRO treats the area in only 70 minutes, only 10 minutes longer than the other CoolSculpting applicators
Non-pinchable fat is spread over a broad surface on the body and is usually difficult to treat with either liposuction or the vacuum suction of normal CoolSculpting.
CoolSmooth treats these problem areas with a slightly longer, yet still short non-invasive procedure.
What’s to Come?
A new CoolSculpting applicator, the CoolMini, that treats small areas of fat (such as double chin, knees, fat around armpits and the back of the neck) will soon be available.
Artemedica is anticipating the release of this brand new applicator in the fall or winter of 2015.
Kybella
Kybella is another option for those looking to reduce the appearance of a double chin. Dr. Victor Lacombe will be the first doctor in the area to offer Kybella and will also train other surgeons on the procedure.
Kybella is an injectable composed of deoxycholic acid, which occurs naturally in the human body. It permanently destroys submental fat, drastically reducing the appearance of a double chin.
Kybella is the only treatment for a double chin ever approved by the FDA. This unique position prompted the acquisition of the drug’s maker Kythera Biopharmaceuticals by pharmaceutical giant Allergan.
Artemedica is anticipating a fall 2015 release for Kybella.
ThermiSmooth
Artemedica is the only office in the area that is currently conducting the clinical study for ThermiSmooth.
The ThermiRF system uses precise amounts of heat energy to tighten and smooth skin.
When the collagen in your skin reaches a certain temperature, it reacts by shrinking, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, laxity, cellulite, and even fat.
ThermiSmooth is completely non-invasive, gradually tightening skin to achieve a more youthful look. The procedure is so pain-free that patients describe it as a warm, relaxing massage.

Restylane Silk
Artemedica was one of the first practices in the US to receive and offer Restylane Silk to our patients.
Restylane Silk is the first FDA approved hyaluronic acid filler for filling fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. If you’re looking to enhance your lips and remove small fine lines from your features, Restylane Silk could be the perfect choice for you.

Restylane Lyft
Artemedica will be the first practice in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties to offer Restylane Lyft to our patients. Restylane Lyft gained FDA approval in July of 2015 and is expected to hit the market early Fall. Restylane Lyft is a filler with lidociane and will be used to correct age related volume loss in the cheek area and treat smile lines.
