Brow lifts reverse signs of aging in the eyes and forehead

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that seeks to minimize the visual effects of aging by reducing wrinkles, smoothing frown lines, and raising sagging eyelids and brows. The results are a more youthful visage which translates to appearing alert and refreshed. This facial plastic surgery procedure is most commonly performed on individuals between the ages of 40 and 60. However, it can also help individuals of any age who have developed furrows or frown lines due to stress, premature aging, and other inherent or genetic conditions. It addresses:

  • Horizontal forehead creases
  • Deep frown lines (the “11” lines between the brows)
  • Sagging eyebrows that may additionally cause:
  • Overhanging or droopy eyelids
  • Crow’s feet
  • Asymmetrical eyebrow arches or eyebrows that have lost their arch

The brow lift procedure

Today’s brow lift procedure is far more advanced than that of yesteryear. Recent advances make it possible to perform the procedure using an endoscope (a tiny camera with a light attached). This allows plastic surgeons like Dr. Lacombe to use much smaller, more refined incisions which are hidden by the hairline. Once the incisions heal, they are practically invisible to the naked eye.

Patients with shorter hair usually opt to grow their hair out before surgery to hide the new incisions. For patients who are bald or have a receding hairline, Dr. Lacombe can move the incision site to a less noticeable location.

No two browlift procedures are the same. Artemedica’s Dr. Lacombe tailors each procedure to meet each patient’s unique goals. Dr. Lacombe will discuss your options with you to determine which technique best meets your needs. No matter what you’re looking to accomplish, Dr. Lacombe will work with you to make sure you are happy with your results.

Recovering

While individual results may vary, you can expect to be up and about in a day or two. Of course, we always insist our patients take it easy for at least a week following surgery. Many return to work or school within a week or less. Again though, we recommend you avoid strenuous activity for the next few weeks. Refrain from getting the surgical site wet until your surgeon advises you that you can. Once the bandage and any remaining sutures are removed, you will be able to shower and shampoo as usual. This occurs usually within a day or two of the procedure after your post-operative appointment.

Customizing your cosmetic surgery

Your surgeon can perform a brow lift alone or in conjunction with other facial plastic surgery procedures. Complementary procedures include:

Sometimes, patients who come in for an upper eyelid surgery consultation discover that a brow lift would better meet their surgical goals. Additionally, some patients choose to maintain or complement their cosmetic surgery with non-surgical injectable fillers like Dysport. Dr. Lacombe is more than happy to put together a unique surgical plan to achieve your goals.

Roderic Wallace Trusts Dr. Victor Lacombe

“Probably one of Dr. Lacombe’s greatest assets is his intuitive understanding of what it takes to create a very natural yet aesthetically pleasing result. In my case, a brow lift opened up my eyes, a subtle lift to the tip of my drooping nose dealt with the negative effects of gravity, a small chin implant balanced a newly sculpted neck and stronger jaw line… yes, a number of procedures done at one time, but oh so worth it in the long run. I can enthusiastically endorse Victor as one of the finest plastic surgeons around.*”
