A woman’s breasts change over time for a number of reasons, including pregnancy, weight fluctuation, aging, and gravity. Depending on the individual, the changes can be mild or dramatic. Breast lift surgery can help restore the youthful state of your breasts.
Breast lift surgery is performed by removing excess skin and tightening the remaining skin around the breast area. While a breast lift can dramatically improve the shape of your breasts, it does not alter the size of your breasts. However, if want larger or smaller breasts, breast lift surgery can be performed in conjunction with breast augmentation or reduction.
A breast lift surgery takes around 1-2 hours and is performed as an out-patient procedure under general anesthesia.
Recovery will require rest for the first few days but many patients are able to return to work and daily activities within a week or so. Some soreness and swelling after a breast lift procedure is common and should fully diminish in a few months time.
