Ophthalmologist Dr. Alice Chiang performs the following eye surgeries for men and women in Sonoma, Napa, Marin, and surrounding counties at the Santa Rosa Surgery Center.
Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is performed to treat cataracts. Cataracts can cause cloudy, blurry or dim vision. Cataract surgery is a very common procedure in which the lens of your eye is removed and (in most cases) replaced with implantation of an artificial lens. Cataract surgery is a safe and effective way to restore vision.
YAG- Laser
Following cataract surgery, the capsule may produce cloudy cells that typically cause blurred, hazy vision. This common condition, known as posterior capsular haze, occurs in some patients who undergo cataract surgery. Posterior capsular haze can be simply treated using a YAG laser.
Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty
Laser trabeculoplasty uses a very focused beam of light to treat the drainage angle of the eye. This surgery makes it easier for fluid to flow out of the front part of the eye, decreasing pressure in the eye.
Dr. Chiang also performs eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) with facial plastic surgeon Dr. Victor Lacombe in the Artemedica surgical suite. Eyelid surgery can improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Improving features that make you look older and more tired than you feel—such as drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes—is the main reason people undergo eyelid surgery.
