Perlane is a treatment for moderate to severe wrinkles in the mid-face.
From the makers of Restylane, Perlane restores volume to mid-face wrinkles such as laugh lines. If your facial wrinkles are too severe for other treatments, Perlane could be the right choice for you!
How Does it Work?
Perlane makes use of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in our skin. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for giving structure and volume to our skin—Perlane helps restore this lost structure to wrinkles on the face.
Perlane injections are made at a greater depth than Restylane using larger particles than Restylane. The result is that Perlane benefits patients with more severe wrinkles than Restylane does.*
Am I a Candidate for Perlane?
Most people suffering from moderate to severe facial wrinkles will be candidates for Perlane.
Since it is used to treat moderate to severe wrinkles in the mid-face, Perlane may not be the right choice for those with less prominent wrinkles or wrinkles in other areas. Perlane may not be right for people with certain allergies, either.
During your procedure, Dr. Victor Lacombe will inject Perlane deep into the tissue around the wrinkled areas of your face. Depending on the number of areas treated and severity of the wrinkles, the treatment is usually done within a short period of time.
The Results & Recovery*
As with many other injectable fillers, the results from Perlane injections can be immediately apparent following the procedure. Though you will notice a difference immediately, it’s best to wait at least a week to see how everything looks with some time to heal.
There is virtually zero recovery required for Perlane injections. You can get back to your normal schedule and even go back to work the same day.
The most common side effects of Perlane injections include swelling, redness, pain, bruising, and tenderness around the treated area. Patients usually report only mild discomfort during and after the procedure.
