What is a Weekend Laser Peel?
The Weekend Laser Peel (also referred to as a Micro Laser Peel) is a superficial Laser Resurfacing treatment performed by Eye, Laser & Cosmetic Specialist Alice Chiang, M.D. that uses an Erbium YAG laser to improve the following:
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Age spots & sun damage
- Enlarged pore size
- Overall skin tone & texture
- Provide a more youthful appearance
How does Weekend Laser Peel work?
The Weekend Laser Peel beam is scanned over the treatment area & removes a thin layer of damaged skin. Removing this layer of skin eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look. As the skin heals, fresh skin cells grow and resurface on the treated area. The result is a healthier, more youthful complexion often with reduced wrinkles and improvement in skin tone and texture. Patients often say that it looks like their skin went from looking tired to vibrant.
How long will it take to recover?*
Depending on the depth of treatment, most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work within 2-3 days – which is why we refer to this as a “weekend” peel. It is also important to avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks following the treatment as your skin will be sensitive to UV light until fully healed.
How many treatments will I need?
Great results can be obtained in just one treatment, however we recommend a series of 3 treatments for optimal results.
What aftercare will I need?
Depending on the skin care products you already use, you may be recommended certain skin care products to help in the healing process, along with instructions/training on how to use them.
What if I’m looking for a Deeper Laser Resurfacing?
We offer options that are more invasive than the Weekend Laser Peel. Our In-Office Laser Resurfacing Treatment delivers laser beams to deeply penetrate into the two layers of the skin (epidermis and dermis), simulating the production of collagen & creating cell turnover. Our most invasive laser treatment is performed under anesthesia in our fully accredited surgical suite by Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Victor Lacombe. To read more about that procedure, click here.
