The Soprano ICEwoman showing off her legs after laser hair removal

Artemedica is glad to introduce one of the most advanced laser hair removal systems, the Soprano ICE by Alma Lasers. The latest in diode laser systems, the Soprano ICE incorporates multiple laser wavelengths and technologies to allow the treatment of the widest range of patients and hair types.

By combining a modern cooling system and multiple laser wavelengths with the advanced In-Motion technology, it is now possible to safely and painlessly remove unwanted hair from any part of the body regardless of your age, sex, or skin type.

What makes the Soprano ICE system different?

The In-Motion technology allows for a constant and rapid application of light through a sweeping motion of the applicator that ensures full coverage. Combining that with a sophisticated cooling head that cools the skin during treatment to maintain comfort.

By taking a more gradual approach to heating up hair follicles in the subdermal layer of skin, the Soprano ICE effectively eliminates hair without the pain and discomfort of previous laser technologies.

The Soprano ICE system is the most complete and effective laser hair removal solution available today.

Who is a candidate for laser hair removal?

Almost anyone looking to remove unwanted hair is a candidate for laser hair removal. With the inclusion of multiple laser wavelengths and the latest technologies, practitioners can now treat a wider range of patients and hair types than ever before. That means the Soprano ICE system provides effective results for light or dark skin with coarse or fine hair.

How to prepare for laser hair removal.

A common misconception is that you must grow your hair out in order to receive laser hair removal, when in fact you should be cleanly shaven for an effective and safe procedure.

In order for treatment to work properly, there must be hair in the follicle. Hair removal methods such as waxing, plucking and threading completely remove the hair from its follicle preventing the laser from targeting it. Shaving, on the other hand, is encouraged to be performed within 24 hours of treatment to allow for easier use of the applicator while still leaving hair within the follicle to be targeted for removal.

Why do I need multiple laser hair removal treatments?

Laser hair removal can only target hair that is in an active growth phase. If a follicle does not contain a hair at the time of treatment, it will continue to grow. Because of this, multiple treatments and adequate time between them is critical for best results. This will allow more hair follicles to be targeted as they cycle through their growth phases.

The majority of people will require 6-8 treatments and variables such as skin tone and hair type will affect the success of treatments. But generally, after each treatment, patients will see a noticeable reduction in the number of hairs that regrow in the areas treated.

What to expect during and after treatment.

One of the most common questions involving laser hair removal is will it hurt? Older technology used the “pulse” method where the laser light would flash on and off, which was painful and time-consuming. It was often described as being snapped with a rubber band repeatedly.

On the contrary, the Soprano ICE laser uses a continuous light that can be passed over the treatment area several times using a paintbrush motion. This will ensure that there are no missed spots and most patients have described the experience as a warming sensation, much like a hot stone massage.

The Soprano ICE offers the fastest laser hair removal solution available today. The length of a laser hair removal treatment, however, will depend on the location of the body and can vary based on the patient’s skin color and hair type.

  • 10-15 minutes for small body parts such as underarms, lips, and bikini zone
  • 30-45 minutes for larger body parts such as full arms, half legs, and chest
  • 1-1.5 hours for full legs, full back, and other large areas of the body

After treatment, patients will notice that the hair still remains intact, this is normal. Laser hair removal does not extract the hair but neutralizes it at its root. From here your body will naturally push out the hair until it falls out.

Do not attempt to speed up this process. Allow your body time to naturally lose the hair. After the hair has fallen out you will experience a hair-free period. Each subsequent treatment will extend your hair-free period. Once the series of treatments is finished, around 60%-80% of hair will not grow back. Remaining hair will grow back, usually thinner and lighter. After several treatments, patients have experienced hair-free periods that last for several months and even years.
