Nose surgery are by and far the most popular cosmetic procedure. Patients get nose jobs for a variety of reasons including to repair their nose after an injury, to correct breathing problems or a birth defect, or because they are simply unhappy with the way their nose looks. And while it may be worthwhile to get a surgical nose job for medical reasons, for those who simply wish to alter the appearance of their nose, surgery may seem a bit excessive. However, there’s now a non-surgical, non-invasive alternative to traditional surgery: liquid rhinoplasty.

Liquid rhinoplasty can dramatically improve your self-confidence by bringing your facial features into balance, creating a more symmetrical appearance which results in a more beautiful face. Using many of the known and trusted dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm, a liquid nose job can create smooth and desirable contour in the nose without ever having to commit to surgery.

How does liquid rhinoplasty differ from a traditional nose job?

Liquid rhinoplasty doesn’t reduce the size or prominence of your nose by incision. Instead, it uses dermal fillers like Juvéderm Voluma XC to artfully contour your nose to the desired shape. By adding subtle volume to the bridge or nasal tip, liquid rhinoplasty can create the appearance of a perfectly straight and slimmer nose. Although many can be considered candidates for a liquid nose job, the best candidates are those with minor dorsal humps (the bump on the bridge of your nose) and other asymmetries around the nasal tip. Liquid rhinoplasty can also help to correct nasal fracture deformities due to injury to the nose. It addresses:

  • A crooked nose
  • Reshaping the tip
  • Removing a hump in the nose bridge

The entire injection process is quite straightforward and fast. Before your injections, Dr. Lacombe or one of our other trained clinicians will provide local anesthesia to ease discomfort. It will take some time for the anesthetic to kick in, but afterwards you should feel minimal to no pain. Your provider will then ease the dermal filler under your skin to disguise any bumps or irregularities until the desired look is achieved. Following your injection, Your provider may massage the treated areas to evenly distribute the dermal filler and minimize any bruising or swelling. The whole procedure should take no more than 15-30 minutes depending on the size and scope of the areas to be treated.

If you do feel any discomfort or anxiety before or during your treatment, you can always ask your provider about PRO-NOX.

Recovery after your injection treatment

After your treatment ends, you can return to your daily routine with minimal recovery and very little downtime. Some patients experience swelling, bruising and redness at the injection site(s), but this should dissipate within a few days. If you experience any discomfort, apply an ice pack to the treated areas.

Because liquid rhinoplasty uses injectable fillers, results are immediate and long-lasting. Typically, results last up to 12 months with optimal treatment, although results vary from patient to patient. Liquid rhinoplasty is therefore also a great way to test the waters if you are considering a surgical procedure down the road.

Roderic Wallace Trusts Dr. Victor Lacombe

“Probably one of Dr. Lacombe’s greatest assets is his intuitive understanding of what it takes to create a very natural yet aesthetically pleasing result. In my case, a brow lift opened up my eyes, a subtle lift to the tip of my drooping nose dealt with the negative effects of gravity, a small chin implant balanced a newly sculpted neck and stronger jaw line… yes, a number of procedures done at one time, but oh so worth it in the long run. I can enthusiastically endorse Victor as one of the finest plastic surgeons around.*”
